Nov 22, 2023 – The Appalachian Ice Arena is now Open for Ice Skating on a regular schedule, with sessions daily from 12-2pm, 3-5pm and 7-9pm.
Located in a spectacular scenic setting overlooking the ski slopes on one side, and the Blue Ridge Mountains on the other, the outdoor ice arena has a refrigerated ice floor, and is fully-lighted for skating under the stars seven nights a week. It is the only ski area in North Carolina with a Zamboni to cut the ice floor on its ice skating rink. Skaters and non-skaters can watch the action and warm up by our rink-side bonfire. We offer skate rentals in traditional figure skates, as well as hockey skates.
