App Ski Mtn. has been focused on a variety of projects that guests can appreciate during their visit for the 2025-26 season.
As always, snowmaking has been added on several slopes to ensure an even deeper, more consistent base depth. Select existing snowguns have been converted into auto guns, which utilize an onboard weather monitor and make continuous adjustments to maximize both quality and quantity of snow output.
A new Pisten Bully Park Pro 400 snowcat joins the fleet at ASM for 25-26, to provide the best snow surface possible on a daily basis.
ASM’s signature Online Reservations Platform continues to be refined, offering the only timeslot based ticketing system in the region. This 5-minute timeslot reservation system has made the check-in process flow better than ever before, ensuring a smooth and fast experience for ticket pickup, rental equipment and lessons. ASM’s Flex Ticket pairs perfectly with the timeslot reservations, as your ticket time starts when you set foot on the snow, so a guest can arrive at any time on their schedule and get the full value of a day’s ski ticket.
Next level technology will also be seen in the Appal Jam terrain park for the coming season. ASM is partnering with Precision Approach Sports to provide park riders with a light display near the top jump in the Appal Jam Terrain Park that provides real-time speed awareness during your approach, helping guests make a better “go/no go” decision. The system minimizes the risk of overshooting or undershooting the landing area, reducing the chance of injury from hard landings. The display will also capture video footage of a riders jump that can be downloaded to a guest’s phone or email. We’re excited to welcome the Precision Approach Team to the park —they’ll be on-site to answer any questions.
ASM has also started initial construction for both a Snowcat Operations Building as well as a new Skier Services Building, both will ultimately provide enhanced capabilities in a variety of ways, as well as opening current Base Lodge square footage to better serve guests. These projects are both multi-year endeavors that are in-progress.
The Appalachian Rental Department received upgraded tuning equipment in the form of a new Wintersteiger wet belt and stone grinder. This advanced machine provides unlimited possibilities of base patterns, for both high performance race tunes and recreational freeriding and everything in between.
Finally, our Appalachian Ice Arena has made several shadecloth system improvements, featuring new anchor towers and cloths to maintain the best outdoor ice surface possible.
It is shaping up to be an exciting winter season at App Ski Mtn.! Scheduled opening day is Friday, Nov 21 (weather permitting).
