ASM is excited for the return of excellent snowmaking conditions! Snowmaking will begin on closed slopes at 5pm on Monday, December 29th or as soon thereafter as temperatures allow.
To maximize snow production, the Appaljack and Appal Jam Terrain Parks will be closed at 5pm, along with Highline and Candied Appal. Both Appaljack and Appal Jam’s features will be pulled overnight on Sunday, Dec. 28 in preparation for this snowmaking event. A small section of limited features will be open at the bottom of Appaljack from Monday, Dec. 29 – Wednesday Dec. 31 for park riders. After 42 consecutive hours of snowmaking, we anticipate opening Highline, Appal Jam, Appaljack and Candied Appal for Thursday Morning, Jan. 1.
After going through an extended period of warm weather, it will be essential for snowmaking to be ongoing on a limited basis on all open slopes through this cold spell. Good snowmaking temperatures are a gift and we need to utilize this limited opportunity to give our guests the best possible conditions in the immediate and foreseeable future.
